Range is vital as you say. Common item with range on it is Cloudsong but I've always hated it due to it's low utility. Might be a start mind.

You shouldn't like it, because its rubbish and wrong. That template uses classic items (which have different stats) and it has virtually no toys.

I have copied my template from a few years ago below. I am sure it can be improved upon a bit now and you may not have MoH, but start from this and only drop toys if you know you really don't need them.

Think I used EP in my neck (almost IP2) and didn't use CB but it was along those lines. I'd also be tempted to try and milk some extra heal bonus in there but I wasn't a 47 music bard.

Change 5 Energy from Gloves to Heat insted and it would work better tbh

I was running a celt bard.

Obviously I would like perfect resists but there were more important things. I am not going to be hit that much harder than someone with capped resists (if you take into account things like CTR etc.)

It was an 8v8 template and we were running a tank group. bm, 2x vamp, champ, warden, 2x druid, bard (or a variation on that). Not many Fire wizards in 8v8 groups and those that were, were hopefully locked down quickly. Energy was more important to me because if I got mezzed I would be sitting it out and every second counted. For zerg surfing, or running in a 2x bard fg you could indeed tweak it.

wizzies have perma 25% sist pierce anyway as fire so they always hurt regardless of how much heat you have you can have red heat resists + 26% from templates and they'd still nuke you for 450+ likely.

dracolich necky is similar to MoH, can try alter template around that necky, or wait for a new season event/quest that gives a new MoH necky as reward. Arnak live event had MoH again as reward.
