Bard spec advice

Opinions about this please... best instamez with 47 music 16 reg 43 nurture... or lower instamez, better heals, 43 nurture and some weapon spec?

you could go with max nur and rest reg until lvl 40 and respec to music/nur though, but ur hib main CC and supposed to mez imo I had a 42 bard gimp long ago (first escal char) with maxed nur, and rest devided between reg, blade and music....well don't do that hehe.

If someone in gorup tell you that you're heal sux and you must spec reg, tell him to stfu if he want speed and mezzes in rvr when u both hit 50

Mezzing is really fun, considering lvl my bard to 50 too, but not very keen on another 2 weeks with late night boooring fin groups

just save your respec opportunity, standard mezz template is best right now, but after mezz nerf :/ we will see...

insta mez is for emergencies only ! (or times when you sideswipe a group and know you are gonna make em drop in 10 secs)

stick with 43music for the best aoe mez , the instas will only let you down when you cant remez and find the albs/mids running around after 40odd secsonds...

stick 43 into nurture and rest in heals and maybe get a weapon style if you are so inclined

get healing ra's, get AM, get crit heals, get the ra to make your buffs better too, by god man you are a bard ! not some tank with speed.....although..nah..

or considering mez nerfs, maybe those extra points for that last insta area mez arent worth it. The duration on it is short and with mez nerfs its going to suck even more. So I've looked at respeccing my bard a bit and came up:

43nurture
44music - best area mez & DD
20regrowth - gives u a group heal and a not bad single heal
12 weapons - left over points

Mezz nerfs ahoy, so might as well aim for that. I'm going to use my respec for it.

I dont want to tell anyone how to spec their bard, so I just suggest something a bit different to you:

47 music for the best aoe mezz (grps will love you for it)

33 nurture (for faster speed than any other class in hibernia)

32 regrowth (great basic spec heals AND the most mana efficient spec heal around, you can also improve your heals some by getting wild healing, mastery of healing, RRs and regrowth items)

4 blunts (or blades if you prefer or even 2-3 points in both, if you prefer, not going to be using a weap much anyway)

Of course, the 47 music, 43 nurture spec is some kind of a standard, but I feel 16 regrowth is kind of useless in certain situs. The best insta aoe mezz is useful when running around hunting for 1-2 fgs, but in e.g. a relic raid, PvE, anywhere else, you would really want to be able to heal better (as there is nothing much more for you to do than play your songs and heal). Nothing naturally forbids a bard that doesn't have speed5 to group with one that does have it.

Also, the mezzes will become less important when tanks get cheap purge and determination next patch... Time to max your melee resists and const/hit points for any bards, as they are likely to still be close to the top of the target list and tanks will now be close to unmezzable (especially with the short duration of the insta mezzes).

i have specced 47 music ( for last AE insta mezz, dd, single mezz etc.), 43 nurture ( for speed5, end5 and mana4 ) and 16 regrowth ( for the big rezz ) and rest in weapon..
i think this specc is 1 of the best because i cant see the reason for bards to be able to melee or specc high in regrowth because we got a baseline group heal that is quite good

My bard is the 47 music, 16 regrowth, 43 Nurt.

The mezz sticks enough, the heals are between 150-280 or 180 constant with spec heal, and fast speed song.

I have stopped playing my Bard in rvr except for guild events for a number of reasons,

Firstly I am fed up of being pretty much the only class in the game with a complete inability to defend myself, I am fed up of just being a speed bot, and frankly, with the nerfs to mezz coming thick and fast, I just can't be bothered to make a speedbot char for people to abuse :/

My healing sucks, bard is meant to be a Crowd control char, with that ability being slowly taken away through various new skills in the game. At least healers will be able to Root and Stun, and I know for a fact with decent Aug they can solo a lot of classes in the game.

Bard is a great class for fun to play in the Battlegrounds and against monsters, but I really can;t see the point in continuing to play a class thats being pushed out of the Rvr war

Speed 5 means you can pick your fights: you can chase weaker enemies and run from superior numbers. Anything below that and you will feel the pain. Sure, you can group with another Bard with speed 5, but that takes up one spot in the group which otherwise could be used by another class. If you aimed for a group with 2 bards from the beginning on i'd completely forget about nurture, cause then it might be an advantage to have a mezzer/demezzer who doesn't carry around a big sparkling instrument

Bards don't do bad in rvr DEFENCE ... forget about the zerg situation or grp situation...

I am so looking forward to Lev 47+ ... at the mo I can run around emain alone quiet happy.. if I get picked on by someone I have no chance with .. Insta used & Speed out of it with drums and Lute playing....

That Shout can do some dmg


Just dunno if I will ever be arsed to get into a fins list ... they used to be fun... debating on leveling to Lev 50 just using DF Raids

great mezzer, best speed ofc. different ae insta mez doesnt seem to make a diff.
