started out with 30 chanter and 30 menta as a bot, its nice you can have menta outside grp just casting manaregen and hot´s
but having unbuffed pet and me being unbuffed really sucks
I dont want a druid as bot cause i cant stand all mana downtime

so anyone tryed having a bard as a bot? manaregen, base buffs, heals for pet, downside is i have to have him in grp

what ya think, menta bot or bard with 30nurt, 20reg? would it be slow xp having him in grp? can bard heal enough?

I would go druid. Druid buffs make a lot of difference on the pet, a druid + chanter can get much better exp than the other combinations if the druid aims for 39+ in nuture.

You can buy mana in bottles ;) mr3 pots and strong elixir of power are your friend. Youll have to accept that a small percentage of your farming goes back into potions, but its insignificant compared to what you can get away with pulling...

I would not go bard. Your chanter has chanter speed, you can buy mr3 pots all you get is basebuffs and very poor heals.

I would be tempted with a menta, HoTs are really 'THE' thing to use for focus pulling or even normal tank groups, and youll get your mr for free and mr4-5 when fully grown. DoTs are nice too. You wont be as good in a pair as a druid cause your pet will have very low absorb, but if you can find someone to buff your pet this is the combo.

Ive spent much of the last 6 months with chanter+druid combo, I can farm warshades and fomorians with ease, farm the stag and dremencis in one pull, pet pull bosses in galla, I wouldnt trade my 39reg druid for any other class.

you can spec a very viable bardbot with 4x regrowth instead of music, the only thing you would lack is specbuffs.

but if u get pots, then i'd agree with above and go droood

I have both. Without potions theres not much in it from my experience.

With no mr (druid) you want to pull as many as possible at a time because fds drains mana at same speed regardless.

With mr (bard) the pulls have to be smaller because of weak enchantments spec buffs and slower/smaller heals. BUT you can pull much more often.

For bosses you need a druid. My bard is RvR specced so a full PvE spec bard with mr5 high reg and little music would be even better.
