Bard help <looking for solo guide>

Could someone please gimme a few tips on how to go about soloing my bard, im making him for pure support , minimum weapon spec <17 or something along those lines >. So could someone please post the way to lead the fight vs Mobs <so far i can only handle blues without breaking sweat, but yellows leave me at 20%hp , i have greencon leather armor. MON then show me how it should be done....

Bards really aren't meant to be used for melee. Being based on Hibernias healing group of classes, they use a lower damage and hp table than a skald (which is fighter based) and have less defensive abilities than a minstrel (stealth etc). A Bard really is a support class, and I haven't heard of any melee specced Bard advancing very far in levels.

I would only put weapon spec up to the first style if you want to be able to do some damage, as no need for Taunt (not enough HP to take a few hits) and no advanced styles (gimps other specs) and no Detaunt (has lullaby so detaunt not needed).

I still haven't finalised the spec for my Bard, as he seems to be only a buff/song/heal bot for my 'Shade at the minute, so I will probably be going to Speed Song 5 and the rest in Regrowth (Healing).

However, bards seem to be wanted in alot of XP groups for their Endurance Song (why would anyone need endurance, it's not needed for spells...) and for their CC and secondary heals. For a good while the HDS main XP group was without our 2 original Druids and Devlin (Bard) filled in for the healing as well as the songs, while Furball and Luona's bubbles minimised the healing needed.

Im having difficulties finding groups on Excalibur with my Bard. Killtasks would help alot if i could get some, but magmel and the other closest town guards wont give any

My level 50 spec is gonna be funky don worry And i will prolly cut down that melee spec down to 5-8. which should give me a few points extra in regrowth.

Just spent 20 minuites reading Whinealot boards aka VN. ......and gee they whine about every single class there is, it seems like all classes are the worst and totally unusefull in the game I mean how sad can you get. Im still sticking to mah bard for PvP though

NERF Bards

All I can say Ivan is Bards are group animals and their melee skill are pretty poor. If you can't get a group, then somethings wrong ! Don't know what level you are, but mid level upwards you will have no problem getting groups - most bards I now are usually grouped with people well above their level. As a tank they are great in a group as they heal and run their end song so I can use constant styles and hardly notice any end loss If you've got a group of elds/enchanters then they can run pow song instead. Bard = group, end of story.

Now i know all the bla bla bla about Purge etc but frankly i have a castable AE mez and an insta one if the insta dont stick i remezz the ones that brek free simple as that I have a few tactical tricks up my sleeve as well <laughs evily>.

And i know PvP is gonna have 2-3 skalds per group, but im versatile battery, healer, dragster -----> groups will love me!!! ......wont they.. :rollseyes:

I mostly soloed my way to 24.. taking on high yellows and low orange mobs (with slash weakness).

If a warden can solo... so can a bard.
Gee... one should think some people have seen me xping in Collory, eh?

Every class has advantages and disadvantages - but why are people so afraid to try something new? You can always respec.

Send me in game if you want to group up (that is assuming you're on excalibur).

unless you have max nurture, when you get high lvls peeps might not have a space for you in a group.

if you want a battle bard..go a warden..gets med shield, chain, parry, chants, buffs, speed and lots lots more..

Battlebard because you can basically pick your targets by mezzing the ones you can't take on... finish off a caster, then run off at high speed.

Otherwise the Warden would be the better choice.
