Hello there all you happy gamers.

Recently i have been having a real bad time on jolt hpb with cheat accusations. i thought i'd come back to my cs 'home' for a bit of advice.

Apparently several people have gone to jolt admin accusing me of cheating of various forms, and now i have been put on thier 'to watch' list - sop i have been told.

Its all very well getting accused of cheating in the servers by other players as i just ignore them but when admin get involved it takes it to another level.

This is going on the FACT that i DO NOT cheat.... what proof would the admin here need to show that someone was cheating?? Would there be anyway of an admin getting it wrong and ban me? Also would a demo be enough proof to prove that i don't cheat??

hhmm, ell a demo recorded by you would be conclusive, but not any demo.
a demo recorded say before you got banned would be proof because its of the footage that the admin banned you from.
hence if you have enough hd space and can take playing whilst recording demos, keep a demo script to hand incase you think an admin is whatching you.

Yeah its so stupid........ i've been starting to take demos when i play now. But you know how it is? People start jumping on the band wagon or hear rumors and start accusing you of cheating even if they haven't seen you play.

yea, when people hear theres a chance someone's cheating, they use it to explain every death to you.

just now played a game, guy named 'bbbrr' was doing well, someone acused him of cheating once, then half of the enemy team would start shouting at him every time he died/round ended.

people dont think, they just want an excuse for playing badly, or getting fairly cheap, or just plain bad deaths.
i specced this guy, and he wasn't cheating.

the ebst thing to do with a server full of people accusing you is just to make a demo of some kills, then offer to upload it(know what webspace and file name youll use), and tell them to shutup untill theyve downloaded it.

they cant say anything, untill theyve downloaded the demo(which you'll have to upload soon after you stop playing), and then on viewing it you should have more of a leg to stand on for next time.

I know that folk were accusing you when i was on the server but I put them straight.

Told them that you hadnt had time yet to install the new cheats (j/k )

No - seriously, - i did back you up - you are crap most of the time so you cant be cheating.

The cheat accusations will continue long after you and i stop playing.

I got accused last night on the hpb my some "new boy". Thankfully, ther were enough regulars to put him right.

lol ive been accused twice on one week First was a clan called [CTAF] and they trided to vote me off heh heh The second was today when someone called poo-ping on a Jolt server said I was using an aimbot

Laz the accusations come from all over the place. The funny things is a few of my clan have thought i was cheating while playing under different names. I let one of these such games finish and met up on irc. After finding out that they were actually accusing me they said something like 'if i didn't know you i would have thought you were cheating'

I was playing on a clan server with Dusty and co, a few of cmf and one of jolt's admin. I was playing quite well and my score shot up into the 40s quite quickly. After that game the admin thought i was a cheat.

Once people hear that you cheat their opinion of you seem to be fixed. Especailly if they don't know. Yeah, the cheating / accusations will never stop. It seems to have got worse with the release of 1.3 - with which we were all assured would bring the end to cheating.


Oh.......... Laz, CPSA are no more. Lasted long, 1 game LOL

I play Half-Life DoD on the Jolt servers a lot. No disrespect to BW but the DoD scene is a lot livelier on Jolt.

Anyway, I had a similar problem with a Jolt hosted Clan server where I got permanently banned for allegedly using a Wall Hack, follow the link to see what was said and the out come of the matter:

After I was banned I went to the Clan IRC channel and asked the simple question; why I was banned. The guy on the channel at the time knew who I was because on the IRC channel I used my Clan Name where as on the server I used one of my anonymous names.

Anyway when the guy realised it was me they had banned he said if he’d of known it was me they wouldn’t have banned me. What sort of comment is that to make, I either cheated or I didn’t.

I’ve been getting the felling that a few of the regular Jolt DoD player/admins think I cheat, It ain’t a nice feeling having to defend your self against lame accusations, especially when what’s actually happening is you are just having a particularly good game. Good job I don’t do well too often, that’s all I can say.

Like Mr_Powers says, what can you do about it. I think it is just a consequences of poorly trained admins and a closed group of players that believe they know best because they ain’t noobies and they don’t know who you are.

I was rather annoyed with one of the Jolt admins response on the matter as well but that’s another story.

on the subject of cheating accusations, i was just playing on BW CS 3, de_inferno and one player started calling me a cheat. not being the best player ever, i was quite taken aback by this and obviously defended myself, a few people on the server said they didn't think i was cheating and this urged a few more to also say that they disagreed with the accuser. despite this, he still refused to accept that i wasn't cheating so i offered him screenshots and demos, as i have absolutely nothing to hide. the only thing i use that anyone could possibly presume was a cheat is some high-fps models. for anyone who hasn't seen them before, they're basically the normal cs models with the polygons reduced, which gives me quite a nice fps boost, due to my ancient hardware.

the total ignorance of many of these people who go round aimlessly accusing people of cheating is beyond me. the mistrust held by many cs players is more annoying than any blatant cheaters. at least admins can kick/ban cheaters.

ive seen the player models like that, they actually look quite funky

i use custom weapon models, and custom radio sounds, so does that make me a cheater?

if having your 'counter terrorists win' radio sound replaced by beavis saying 'come out with your pants down!' is a cheat, then im guilty

most of my custom sounds are beavis and buthead, but i have some random one sin there too

i take demos most of the time now anyways,

best thing to do is stick to the same servers, get to know people, just seems to be when a newbie comes on bw, its he cheats, he cheats etc etc

Exactly, the bit that gets on my nerves is the accusers total ignorance to possibly being proved wrong. After he refused to accept any proof otherwise from me, I told him his opinion was therefore worth absolutely nothing, from which I got a comment somewhere along the lines of "n00b".

As for servers, I tend to play on BW or UKCSR/F9, both servers have admins who I know of, and are regular players.

This has happened to me before.. i changed my name for the game i was playing on a public with my clan.. i was playing best ever.. i got up to 19-2 on a 12 plyr server fairly quick. I got accused of cheating a few times.. even some of my own clan left the game

So.. i changed my name to my clan name. Everyone Apologized!

It seems as if you are well known and in a good clan you arent a cheater.. only people not in clans and with newb name can be cheaters.

All i can say is no matter how popular or how much of a friend the person you are playing with never rule it out that anyone, even the most truthful person could be a cheat!

Yeah the guy did go off on one.

The only thing I can say in his defence was that the server was INCREDIBLY laggy so alot of weird shit felt like it was happening, specially for us HPBs.
The server crashed when it changed to the next level (usually a sign that it wasn't coping well).

I also had my suspicions on that server but about a player named Negative ? In the end I just couldn't tell if anyone was really up to no good or it was just a laggy night.

Jumped on another BW server and an admin had to come and kick some blatant aimbotter/headshooter.

Just goes to show the cheaters have created such an atmosphere of suspicion it's difficult to really enjoy the game anymore.

hey bud have u sused out whats making c/s crash yet?
I'v just installed realbot,a single player mode and i had a crash
while playing that (offline). Plus im haveing a graphics lag (only when on single player mode). If you'v got any ideas please please let me know

I have had the same problems with realbot. Within three minutes into a game, my system just crashes, or laggs up like mad.
