How long is a ban for on the bw servers?
to the people who put votes up to ban you when they feel like it and spoil the game how many people agree?

It depends on what the server admin defined it as, on the BW servers its 30 mins. You can't be vote banned on most servers, including BW so it was likely that you were vote kicked which has a 3 mins ban attached to it.

Speaking from experience people kick for no reason or misunderstanding, its very easy to misunderstand situations.

Then again maybe people kicked me for the IRA tag infront of my name, thankfully Im rid of that now. IRA had btw no relation to the Irish IRA, it stood for Immortal Red Army (not my idea, stupid name if you ask me )

I understand the idea but is it necessary. The voting system can be used say when a team is attacking and getting nowhere because of good tactics they ban a defender and haypresto an opening to a base and for what 3 mins that team has the ability to go for it.
i just think it can be abused and sometimes is

I prefer to see muppets kicked then have to put up with them on the team. But it takes a bit for me to put a vote in for a kick.

eg. Shocklancing me or another team member in front of me I'll ignore it (first time). Shocklancing your team member in the back so you can buy a Shrike before them and leave people at the pad will get a vote to kick u from me.

Likewise with ship stealing. It's one thing to steal someones ship (in general I ignore it unless you keep it up), it's another thing to be a bad sport when you couldn't steal the ship and then shock them or try to blow them up and hurt others in the process.

It's funny, I've only been kicked once and I didn't deserve it. I was trying to kill an NME and he dropped down into the water but must of cloaked, as I shot the only guy I could see from above and killed him only to find it was my own teammember. I said sorry but he voted to have me kicked anyway. :/

I had another guy try to vote to have me kicked every time the round started. Finally we were out in the middle of nowhere, he was almost dead, I had a repair pack and the NME were closing in. He starts screaming "Repair me!" and I tell him to take a hike at which point he says sorry but I left him there anyway.

sparkman you can only vote to kick people on your own team, specifically to stop the potential for abuse you've just described.

bah yeah that fucks me off, when you vote to kick some TKer, say "TKer" so everyone knows and the enemy team doesn't vote him off, fuck you, when it comes to YOU lot trying to get rid of a TKer don't expect me to help you
