banning and people leaving?..

With all the people leaving or not renewing there subscription, Will GoA Ban people for cheating?

After all that means they will lose more people, which equates to more money.

Its been nearly two weeks now since NF was live, Have not seen anyone being banned for cheating (with radar). It might still be early days yet, but i still have not seen a GM say that they will put how many people have been banned on the News?

Will GoA show the world how many people they have banned? or will they keep it a secret, because they cannot detect updated radar programs, or they cannot show how effective/uneffective they are at catching people? or its bad for business if they start to ban people with so many leaving?

Remember that it has been proven that the radar detection system actually works, mythic did that. Most radar users probably got rid of it.

I haven't had the feeling that anyone was using radar cheats lately, whereas I did have that feeling pre-NF every now and then.

The people who are leaving now are either just bored with NF and/or are moving over to WoW.

I know I'll be taking a break once my subscription expires, some time early December.

I think many would have stopped using rader for fear of loosing there accounts after what happend on Mythics servers..

However GOA do say they have a 0 tollerence policy on cheaters...and I believe them. I personaly don't think radar is a huge problem like it once was..mainly due to the action being shown on the battle map and alos the size of NF would make it easy to miss a fight even if using radar...

That said I am sure some radar users still exsist but I think that most of them have fizzled out. You can never stop cheating in an on-line game, only hope to minimize it.

if you don't ban you lose more people who get annoyed at the cheating.

A lax policy just leads to more cheaters which eventually leads to you having a small percentage of the current player base who all cheat and noone else because they've all quit due to the cheaters making it no fun.

Was very refreshing yesterday on Pendragon with my heretic, three of us sat at the crest of a hill behind a tree watching a force of mids batter away on the door without them suddenly turning around and heading straight for us.

We waited patiently till the door went and charged in, catching them by surprise.

I suspect that people who did use Radar pre-NF have ditched it just to be on the safe side... although it's difficult to tell from a game perspective, as most of the groups that seemed to have a suspicious habit of always adding from behind and so on are now mostly roaming around in the zerg or just not playing!

To be honest, I don't think they've done anything, if I were a company I'd have been proud that we was achieving something and would show it off on the friday news. but not heard of anything yet :|

One thing is for sure, you don't get as many groups appearing from out of no where and heading straight for you anymore, that used to happen so much on Prydwen that it was no co-incedence and suprise suprise many of those groups that used 'offend' now run with the zerg rather than roam as a full group. As for stealthers, well there are still stealth radar users on Prydwen, of that I am certain, I don't believe in repetative co-incedences and there are certain players that manage to do the impossible on a regular basis. That isn't me QQ'ing either because I was beaten, I am just stating a sad fact and I report it to GOA whenever I get proof which is rarely because how do you really prove that someone has used radar? It's not as if we can fraps everything we do in game and text logs really don't prove much

Anyway back to the point, the majority of radar users have either quit using it or quit the game, either way everyone wins

i never had a problem wit radar but i could swear a troll skald used 1 in thidr yseterday on me sures big deal its thidr but it was well dodgy. my theurg got hurt bad so i hid inside the bck AB tower and sat down to heal. with albs all out in front of me including lots of blue con casters etc. and he ran straight up from the bck ignored all the albs infront of me ran to tower doorway hit me wit 2 spells killed me then ran off the bridge. it might have been coincidence but i dont think so.

OR he just noticed a stupid alb acually sitting down and that was hurt and thought "cool free RP's"

i was sat down inside the tower. he couldnt have seen me untill he got till the doorway. which was 1st place he went. he ran up DD me then ran off. he only stopped for like hlf a second when he DD me. it definatly wasnt a surprise to him that i was there and i was in tehre a good 10seconds or so before he came in and skald has speed so unless he spent some time running about out behind us before coming in he couldnt have seen me before i went in there.
