Banned!!

Ok I need some help on this, about 6 months ago my PC died a death, I now have a new laptop and installed HL and started to play tfc. I searched for some BarrysWorld servers as they used to be my faves but I get an error message telling me I have been banned from using the servers, on top of this I tried connecting to another server to be told "the CD key is already in use" I've never told anyone this key, made copies of, or lent out this game so what can I do?

To put it simply, I WANT BACK ON BARRYSWORLD!!!

Any help, advice or random comments are apreciated.

Not only that they have also been banned for some unknown reason from some servers...

You could say it's a bit sus., but it's happened to me too. Fortunately my double hasn't been banned. You have two options I guess...

First is that you track down whomever is using 'your' key and burn his/her house down, rape and pillage his/her women folk and finally throw their pc off a very large building. Or, secondly, get a new copy and hence a new cd key (or get a new one (key that is - not pc) off the net from certain sites that I have no, nor will ever have, knowledge about).

I chose the second option... though being a Viking is quite appealing no?

Due to the huge numbers of copies of HL made, other people can have the same CD key as you without anything dodgy having happened.

One possable thing is that your WONID got banned accidently. Do BW keep logs on bannings(IE: Banner, reason, date), as this would help because they might be able to unban your ID.

Bannings should be logged along with a name.

Also a reason *may* be recorded....But 99% of bannings in TFC are for TKing on BW7 or Suiciding as hunted on BW8.

If you email deady@barrysworld.com with your wonid i could try and find out why this wonid is banned.

not true. valve wouldnt make duplicate cd keys, theres literally billions of possibilities.

anyone who appears to be using your cd key has either somehow hacked into your system registry, or has used a key generator, and unluckily for you, yours got generated.

No really, research what you're saying when you contradict someone. It's a (fairly) well known fact that there are duplicate WONIDs. You can have 3 WONIDs the same on simultaneously as there are 3 auth servers.

Its nothing to do with keys. the WON auth server went flakey for a short time giving out wonid's of zero to random people, and we ban wonid 0 on the servers. You should be fine now.
