Hmm - its not really losing altitude - its been at 100 miles up pretty much unchanged for the last hour - I dont think its coming down for another 12 hours or so.

I saw something like it while in Australia end 2007. I *heard* it pass over me with a sound like newspapers tearing. It was amazing, and I am sure that I might be the only one who heard it, given where I was, though certainly not the only one who saw it.

Fantastic!!! When I was a kid my parents and I saw a fireball type re-entry - probably some old sattelite but it looked amazing
