if anyone would like to confirm if im right or wrong with this balanced equation then i will give you some rep (everyone loves rep right?)!

4H2S + 2SO2 ---> 4H2O + 6S

i have been looking at this for fucking ages, and i cant get my peanut around it :(

this is how the equation was given to me -

H2S + SO2 --> H2O + S

what i put up there is how i think it should be so its balanced, and we dont lose atoms from the universe!

pffft sorry lil buddy too busy working on my own biological dilemma, think i've got it cracked though

(Q)

fart + sofa = bearable

bathtub + fart = certain death

(A)

fart has time to disperse in to the area behind you when released in an open air environment thus breaking up the most harmful particals rapidly (sometimes said fart gets defused in a cushon or on a handy person sat behind you allowing them/it to act like a filter),

however enclose said fart in water and remembering the fact that when one lets rip in said tub it generally works its way up through legs being the only time your ever likely to experience one of your own undiluted farts in your own face and we have a near on full catastrophy of apocolyptic proportions and the only method of surviving an attack of this ferocity is to grab the bubble bath and inhale deeply to block full fartal assult.

thats what ive been up to today any hoo

just write it out:

before: H = 2, S = 2, O = 2
after, H=2, S = 1, O = 1

then figue out what you need to do to it to balance it up :p

so, thats

2H2S + SO2 -> 2H2O + 3S

before: H= 4, S = 3, O= 2
after: H=4, S= 3, O = 2 ;)
and the way you did it originally is correct, but if you look at it you can divide it all by 2 and still be balanced :p

as no conditions are mentioned that should be acceptable (depending at what level you are doing it at ;) )

edit: if your still struggling, try this program's free trial: http://www.chemos.co.uk/ (i admit i use it here at uni sometimes)

you start with 4S but end up with 6 unless, im going slightly mad and/or blind, if im wrong ignore this post :)

edit: i was never any good at this anyway :p

well there are 4 x H2S molecules and 2 x SO2 molecules.
so theres 6S.
I haven't looked at one of these in 4 years :l

just shut the hell up ez and get rolling in the marmite.

and back on topic - the reason i couldnt do it with confidence is because i wasnt meant to do that work untill after today, but ive already finished it now. the lecturer told us how to do it. double checked all my shit and it worked out fine.
think this calls for a wank.
