...just as the 'my life sux' thread was starting to get interesting some ewul mod locks it :(

fl3a had just asked what the point is of even having and going to a work.
For once we might have had a serious discussion entangling a wide range of topics all bearing in on existencialism in general and why we humans act the way we do.
But no, you had to lock it.... :twak:

Or maybe we just would have ranted on as usual

The point of going to work is ... !!

....... hmm... the point of going to work is: ....

.................*sighs*......................... We go to work because it's fun!....... that was a lie...:(

.......................................................... ah... it's for the cash.

Cash is important. Feed family, one self, pay DAoC sub, buy a new comp for x-mas*beams*

But in the end it's utterly pointless. Precious time, one could spend xping, is wasted.

People can lock their own threads too, if they start them. Well, they can in the General general forums, obviously I can't test that here because I'm blessed with all kinds of Super Hero skills in this strange land, and so I can close any thread I chose. Mwuhaha, etc... Maybe Pebr can try.

Take it back to basics
We all make things, which we then exchange with others until we get what we want.
Some of the things we make are worth much more than others.
So your product may be worth several of other peoples, making you rich.
Why don't we all just make what we want in the first place?

Oh, interesting, this one! And it all comes round to one thing; the meaning (or point of life). I mean, why exsist? Well, to further the race of human beings would be the evolutionary animal-instinct answer. But, still, there seems to be little point or use to this in modern day society. The fact that survival of the fittest, to a large extent, isn't even happening now-a-days with our fancy-pants medcines and what-not.

So what's the point of exsisting as we do? Hmm.. to work all our lives so we can move up in the world and be successful so we can accumulate wealth, and shun our fellow humans for personal gains. I mean, what's the point in all that? You work all your life to survive (and by survive, we're really talking about our little luxuries that was have come to believe essential), so why bother at all? Why not just end it all? I mean, you work all your life, fairly much, and then you die. Pfft.

You see, here, socialism almost makes sense.. almost. I reckon the only way we can go, as a race, is to all commit suicide (althouhg, frankly, there's not much point in this, either) or all go and live naked in the jungles, and 'devolve' back to monkey-like creatures... just naked. (I had to add that last bit, for fear of me making a serious point).
