Ok something i know abit about since i was once serving her majesty ;)

As for ditching the sa80 yes i agree its getting a wee bit dated to say the least. And yes it does have major faults such as.

1. Constant magazine jams
2. Constant breach blockages
3. The working parts in the stock are pron to jam up , as the dust cover which is open during firing lets in mud , sand , rain and so on so it become like a fat mans underpants after a huge curry and jams ( full of shit ) 24/7

But also in its favour it does have a few good points.

1. The accuracy up to 1000 metres is very accurate indeed
2. Very good weapon in close combat (not to big) but just the jams to worry about :(
3. Its light in weight. Yes after a 10 mile slog it gets heavy but compared to all other weapons its a pleasure to carry.
4. Maintaning the weapon is easy its just a few parts to oil up everytime you get a chance and its back to state you got it from the armoury.
5. The susat sight is sturdy as hell easy to look after ihave never seen 1 go faulty in my 4 years in the forces.

All in all as i said , it is getting dated but it will take a very well designed pices of weaponry to knock the SA80 of its pirch in the role of the british army.

Ok enough from me ;)

Just issue aimbots as standard. FS, I hate it when the military expect me to do all their thinking.

we got to use the cadet version of those. well funny watching the army cadets run around shouting "BANG"

hehehe

even more funny when we were firing air rifles down the football field to some targets and these two army chaps popped up from the bushes behind them and legged it

I read an article about a month ago that the Army had signed a contract to gradually replace the SA-80s with Steyr Augs over the next 7 years. Was on BBC, so I'm assuming it was fairly accurate.

All the Army's SA-80's should be melted down and replaced with either Stery AUG's or M4's. Unlike the Yank's, however, we can actually shoot M4's in the right direction.

Interesting story about the AK. Bunch of Guerilla types buried their AK-47's to retrieve at a later date. The later date, several years later, arrives and the AK's are unearthed. Termites had eaten all the wooden parts ie: the stock and foregrip, but after literally just shaking the loose earth out of the barrel they all fired first time.
Try that with an SA80.

heh

lightsabres & jedi skillz man. all the way :p

anyway, did u not just emphasise how shittily prone to dirt etc causing jams they were? hence would burying the fucking things in the ground for a year not cause them to jam the second you tried to fire them?

yes correct i did say they are known for jamming from dirt but... if u dug an sa80 up from the earth after a year or 2 and add a bit of oil like they did on the program as i saw it ;) it will work just as the ak did but, the stock will not of broke down, as the ak stock is wood and the sa80 stock is plastic

hmmm

plastic toys.. sorry guns.

brings me back to somit i heard on the radio on the way into swansea but can't quite be arsed to look up now i'm home...

police shot some guy on the M6 cos he "seemed to be threatening them with a gun"

is it me or is this synonymous for he didn't actually have a gun and the police are just up to their usual tricks of shooting innocent civilians.

(in between their attempts to fucking knock them down with their ridiculous driving).

That wouldn't be very good, because soldiers would be calling each other "fragwhores" and complaining about each other "stealing my kill"

:D
