I believe that it is actually NOT a BACKlit function but a FRONTlit one.

It also requires some soldering knowledge which gets rid of that warranty pretty quickly!

Nintendo should've done this originally.

I've had a go with my flatmate's GBA and I have to say the screen is really really dire. Enough to put me off buying one.

I really liked the Neo-Geo pocket. Compact design, solid as a brick, nice screen (despite not being back-lit) and a superb thumb-joystick thingy.
