Hiyas guys, after a year of World of Warcraft playing, I'm finally back. The reason why I left DAoC from the beginning was simply because Trials of Atlantis was released, which more or less forced people to spend endless hours making those stupid quests and grinding artifacts. But from what I heard, you can now choose to play on classical servers, without ToA ( YEY! ).

I also heard that the Daoc US and EU perhaps had merged, and that you could play US servers, even though you had an EU account (True or not?)

Glastonbury is the new classic server which indeed lacks the ToA expansion but does support every other expansion like SI, Catacombs and Darkness Rising.

US and EU servers did not merge at all and you can't play on US with your EU account or the other way around.
They did merge Excalibur and Prydwen server so they are now clustered which means that you can group up with players from Excal and Pryd and also form alliances.

Yes... now just replace endless hours of quests and arti grinding with endless hours of DS farming and you´re there.

That always make laugh, people leaving from Daoc cause of the so much grinding in PvE that came along with TOA and then going to play WoW, game that can be resumed like you just did with TOA...

Hi, I can't be arsed with the pve grind, nor can I be arsed to read up on the patch notes. When I log back on please give me 100 plat and escort me through all arti quests/ml quests.

Hehe, didnt quite mean it like that - After toa was released, you had to go trough all those ML quests, and if you had vacation one day from daoc, you were loads of steps/quests behind everyone else, and you could stand for hours just looking for decent groups.

Honestly, I do not know what has been fixed, and after trying World of warcraft, I CAN say that I miss alot of the attractive things in daoc. Although, the game got boring, and I wanted to try something else, hence, playing WoW and Planetside.

I know many people was really really disappointed in ToA, and that many left because of it. Atleast I know I couldnt stand for hours, waiting for a group which could handle those last ML parts. Some could, I couldnt - I do not expect to get Plvled, given cash or anything alike - I simply want to get into the community, and start a character again
