Awful lag!

I think I speak on behalf of most modemers when i say UT is very laggy. I am experinecing PL of anywhere from 3-25%. In Quake 2 I experienec 0-1% PL. is there anyway of changing the rate ( i.e in quake 2)

I believe it can be configured from the multiplayer games menu, but as I can't be arsed to start it I won't look

in default.ini there are the following lines:
[Engine.Player]
ConfiguredInternetSpeed=2600
ConfiguredLanSpeed=20000

I believe, and again, cannot remember, that these are correct...look thru your other ini files for suchlike as well.
