I've heard that the cap for esists is 27%. But what with aom?
Does it make it possible to go above this cap?
so it wouls be possible to get aom2= 27+6 resists= 33% resistsOr does it stay impossible and is aom there to help you get the cap?

item cap is 26

total resists is 26+racial bonus+(aom lvl * 3)

ther is no cap as so, the caps work by item, buff, etc so items cap is 26, then +race bonus, then + AoM, + buffs, so you can get 26 + (e.g.) 5 + and + 9 (AoM3) and + 24 from buffs, let you have 64% resist :) and if you play hib can you can chanters specel RA to get 50% more

Wasn't this RA about to get stripped from all characters, and unavailable to choose again?

Not quite. Resists are being changed so that resists from RA's are applied seperately, making them less effective overall. As a result of this, the RA is removed from all characters and the points spent on it refunded. However, it will still be available as an RA if you feel its worthwhile and want to get it again.

resists

They change the system (1.65), so that RS resists are seperate from the rest.

Resists from items and buffs gets added together. After that resists from RS's gets added together, and both gets multiplied last. (Same why as det adds together whit resiests).

So if you have 26% from items, 16% from buffs you get:
42% resist.
If you then have AoM3: 9% resists + 10% from some other resist ra, that gives you:
19% resist.
Now you add those together: 42+19=61%
after 1.65 you multiply them together:
(1-(1-0,42)*(1-0,19))*100% = 53% resist

26 from items and 9 from aom (common resist in many situations) gets you: 32,7% resists vs. 35 now, so aom will be less usefull but far from useless.
It will be almost useless if you have high resist form buffs tho.

PS: hib maks before:
26 items
24 buffs
50% chanter ra
5 race bonus
27 5*aom
= 132% !!
After 1.65:
= 87,85% - Still wery high, but also almost impossible to get

PPS: someone tell me if I got it all right :)

Elder is correct.

Though in most practical circumstances the only RA you have in this area is AoM.

So if your resistance from other sources is...

....26% then AoM will be worth 2.22% instead of 3%.
....30% then AoM will be worth 2.1% instead of 3%.
....40% then AoM will be worth 1.8% instead of 3%.
....50% then AoM will be worth 1.5% instead of 3%.

From another point of view, this is how it will affect mezz duration - based on a group with a 35 Enh Cleric using the lvl 33 16% body resist buff:

(Based on the Albion 44 Mind AoE Mezz, 1m 12s duration, as the Mid and Hib mezzes are of shorter duration)

Base case:
With capped resist and no AoM you have 42% resistance
A 72s mezz is reduced to 41.8s duration
This is further reduced to 16.7s with Det 4

Currently:
With capped resist and AoM 2 you have 48% resistance
A 72s mezz is reduced to 37.4s duration
This is further reduced to 15.0s with Det 4

Patch 1.64 Resist Changes:
With capped resist and AoM 2 you have 45.5% resistance
A 72s mezz is reduced to 39.2s duration
This is further reduced to 15.7s with Det 4

So, after patch 1.64, you'll be mezzed for 2.6 seconds longer without AoM 2 than with it - or 1.0 seconds less if you have Det 4. Not really much of a return for 4 realm spec points.
