Avalonian Cleric and salvaging

I was just wondering why people make Avalonian clerics, seeing as most people go by stats and benefits instead of characteristics based on roleplay, an Avalonian would make a bad choice because of their short... erm... lifespan, or does their Intelligence affect their manapool as Clerics?

Second, I have a little over 500 in woodworking and metalworking. Can I salvage, say, a level 50 now without losses?
If I salvage studded armor, I get metal in return. Would I get leather from it as well, and cloth from bows, if I had high leatherworking and clothworking?

You can salvage items that require 1000 skill to make. So there are a few af102 sidi or af100 dragon item's that you would have a chance to fail to salvage on. You wont be able to salvage cloth armor yet. As its based on tailoring and not cloth working. Unles ofc you have tailoring as your prime skill. I'd still push your skills upto 775 tho, so you can trinket aserite for decent money returns.

....and you only get one material back from salvage - usually the primary component of the item in the first place - hence the metal from the studded armour, wood from bows etc etc...
