Autotraing for mercs...need help :)

Just wondering, i want to level my saracen thrust mercenary, and want a template 50 thrust
50 dw
28 parry
Just wondering, if i specc'd slash up until level 40, and then used my 40 single respec, and respecc'd slash to thrust, would i still have the autotrain pts in thrust? or would i lose them? If so maybe get 50 thrust, 50 dw, 30 parry...Just curious, and need to know before i lvl him Thanks all, much appreciated

slash auto trains aswell...my merc has 12 in slash even when speccing in thrust...i think the only way to auto thrust is by speccing crush then respeccing to thrust

Aye, i know we get autotrain thrust points....but what im on about, is when i respec from slash to thrust at 40, do i keep them? or do they reset to 0? If so theres no point doing it, just curious so i get those extra parry points

According to classes of Camelot you auto both slash and thrust, and you specced slash, so when you respec slash will drop to your autotrain value, if you had specced crush that would drop to 1 and give you all points back to spec your thrust.

Thrust and slash will be on your autotrain lvl until you train it, then it will raise from the autotrain lvl.

So's that mean....If i spec slash til 40...use my 40 respec and respec slash...and train thrust with the points back from slash, my thrust will already be on 8 pts without me training it? Or will that be set back to 0 too?

Basically, if you train slash to auto train thrust, you gain nothing. As when you respec, the game gives you your6 auto trained skill points in thrust, for free, but also takes away the point of 6 auto trains in slash, hence you get nothing. As people have said before, crush > slash/thrust is the only way you gain anything, as if you auto crush, you still gain your 6 points in slash/thrust, and it doesn't cost you anything out of crush, because crush doesn't auto train. Probably didn't explain it to well, but the only way to gain from auto training is to go crush, and respec to slash/thrust.

It's 54 free points, so effectively you get 29 instead of 28 parry.

if you goto 40 and have trained so you are max slash/DW and rest parry, thrust will autotrain, OR you can hold on and go 50 slah/DW 28 parry hold on for a dragonrespec stone and get those autotrained points all the way to 48

Ok, so what should i do overall? Cause i've been told once i /respec slash @ 40..i lose all autotrain pts, including ones in thrust, so im back where i started. Do i just train thrust from lvl 1? Any suggestions welcome....Im lvl 12 atm, and i haven't trained anything apart from DW...but i don't fancy continuing that way upto 48

Just do thrust 50/50/28,sara thrust merc dodger 3/4 you will be good,df easy to pull off

Its simple; If you want to auto train to level 40, you need to spec in Crush and not Slash or Thrust. Once you hit level 40 you /respec out of Crush and either

a) Place all your points in Thrust and train it up, or

b) Keep all your points and dont train in thrust until level 48 (last auto train level) and then dump all your points in thrust.

Imo auto training for merc's is'nt worth it. In normal RvR you dont parry all to much and a few extra points isnt worth all the hassel.
