Seperate lane for self drivers, professional drivers in control of the trains, nothing but net.

It's a good system if it works.

I would say its a VERY good thing if it happens. All is upto the level of technology used though. I like the example of elevators versus highways. NO WAY we would let people steer elevators at whatever speed/direction. Ofcourse, accidents happens involving elevators too, but....

People think too much of it as a "super high tech" thing though, it should be advertised as a "electronical tow line" :D

The problem is more psychological, the simple fact is trains haven't actually need a driver for a long while but most people can't handle the psychological effect that has on them.

To be honest, I'd be more comfortable to have my corpus dependent on some computerized driver, rather than on Mr. 12-hour per day truckdriver....
I've seen too many lorries make unexpected sways to the left or right while they were making coffee or something behind the wheel... :/

The fact people can come and go as they please on these tow lines = big fuck off accidents. I can see it now people cutting each other off to get into a free space!

If all cars could break and accelorate the same a computer could drive cars 2 ft apart nose to tale and 6 inches side to side so you get 6 lanes of traffic rather than 3. And as computers have no reaction time in theory it would be much safer plus the fact that you would never have congestion. It could put you in a lane and keep you there at 70 the whole way filtering people as and when it needs to. I like the idea personally i hate driving and i hate moron drivers.

I can understand during busy times and during the day, but at night the Motorway is pretty empty, they should increase the speed for night and as its computer controlled, they would see everything a driver could not at night, so it would be safer.

Good news for lorries imo, don't know that many car drivers will want to take it on though.
