auto server search facility gone?!

hope that subject title makes sense....oh well.....
Im a newbie to online gaming.
In MOHAA I used to click 'connect to Internet' and then used to have a button 'search available games' (or something like that) It would then query all available games and I could then choose a game.
This button is no longer there and instead is prompting me to connect through gamespy or input and IP address. How do I re-activate the 'open' server search facility? what have I done...
