Is +aug really required for a shamans SC template??

i.e. What does it actually do?? Increase buff effectiveness??

Cave increases DMG and stabalises Varience in DOT dmg.

Mend does same for Heals.

I'm not sure on aug though..

In my experiments with my bot, using +aug items (not spellcrafted stuff tho) +aug makes jack all difference to the buffs.

I hear it's different for healers but dont know.

Maybe it only makes a noticable difference where the original spec is quite low, this was tested on a +48 aug shaman.

If you have effective aug (including items and realmrank) as high as the buff spell lvl, it will give 1.25 x what it delves for. So if you have 40 aug and a lvl40 str buff delving for 40, it will give 50 str. With specbuffs you always get this bonus since you have to spec aug up to the spelllvl to get it. So getting +aug can make your baseline buffs a bit better if your effective aug isn't already at 50.
Also know that all baseline stat buffs are capped at 62 (50x1.25) and all specline (str/con and dex/qui) are capped at 93 (75x1.25). Theese caps were increased from 50 and 75 in some patches ago. Even with mota5 you cant get over those caps.
