Ok just wondering if any of you lot have any idea what could be the cause of my Audigy Fault. Simply the Audigy plays sounds perfectly, never crashing, but if it tries to use the microphone in game the computer crashes.
Windows XP allows recording via the microphone with the sound recorder application but if I perform the 'test this hardware' function in XP on the microphone then XP says 'this device is not compatible with XP please contact your Sound card vendor'. And this then becomes apparent in Counterstrike as the microphone doesn't work and if I try to use it then game crashes immediately.
System Specs -
OS: Windows XP
MB: MSI6380E KT3 Ultra-ARU
CPU: Athlon XP1800+
RAM: PC2700 2x256Mb
Graphics Card: Creative Geforce4 TI4400
G.Card Driver: Unknown (latest as per Creative's website)
Soundcard: Audigy Player
S.Card Driver: Latest.
The onboard soundcard is disabled, as well as the game port. Tried the original drivers and the latest update but no joy.
Just after advice on any other things to check or if anyone else has encountered a similar fault with any other sound cards or the Audigy.
