Right. 2nd post in 2 days.

Audigys+VIA chipsets (well mine and many others)= HELL

Has anyone here any suggestions on how to get an audigy working on my...

Win XP Pro
epox 8k7a
XP 1800+
And a few more irelevant bits

Im near crying tried millions of different ways of getting it to work properly

Latency seems to bbe the issue but its also sound quality on my mp3s, not unlike sitting in a hall with styrofoam in ur ears and some really bad scratch artist going havoc on my tunes.

If i cant get this thing to work its going in my gateway (celeron 300a) and i will never purchase a soundcard from creative again. Really stupid yes. Satisfying? more so

Has ne1 here ever got an audigy working on a via board and if yes im at ur mercy. If no, dont consider getting one yet.

Thabks in advance

Hmm... I can't help you (apart from suggesting the latest VIA 'Hyperion' drivers, which you've probably already installed) but I'm in the market for a new sound card and was considering the Audigy.

For what it's worth, thanks for the tip.

its rather odd. It works now. the solution?

I had to lift the jack out of my sub cabinet by 2mm to make my speakers 'accept' the audigy. Must have been my cabling causing the issue. BUT IT WAS FINE WITH MY OLD 4.1!?!

Seriously, i ve had some weird stuff happen to me b4 but this takes the biscuit. mebbe the output varies from other 3.5 cable jack (headphone) in the audigy or maybe i have a faulty one...

Either way, i got it sorted.. i hear that people have lots of problems with their audigys and feel its silly to offer this as a suggestion... but still. Incredibly odd ;)

Oh and if u wanderin whether to go out and get one... do. the install is worth the hassle. sounds gorgeous

Also, next time a peripheral in ur pc goes tits up, i suggest doing the very last thing that ud consider trying first.

Tah for help neway =p
