Audigy Drivers and XP

Has anyone installed the latest drivers/software for the SB Audigy card for Win XP.

The ones that came with it and were supposedly fixed by a patch on the SB site managed to wipe my .ini file and with no backup and limited tech knowledge I had to reformat the whole drive -- so I am kind of loathe to trust Creative now ?

Are there any braver souls out there who have risked it ?

why exactly are you patching them? is there a particular issue you want to cure?

I did it, and it crashed my PC on the next reboot but on the next boot it was ok

So yeah if you have an issue try em again, if not leave it!
