If the auction ends at 20.00, and post says 20.00 it's beyond all doubt already past 20.00 closing in on 20.01. 19.59:59 is the "latest" you can bid if the auction ends at 20.00.

you lost, no matter how you look at it.

if last valid bit is the one before 20:00 then treniel has last bid it at 19.59.
If last valid bid is not after 20:00 then terniel has last valid bid at 20:00 your bid is before his in the database


so you lose no matter how you look at it

imo use my auction rulse and u don't get these problems with last minute bidder

Every bid has to last 10 mins so if u bid 19,59 the bid has to last untill 20.09 without any1 overbidding it. That way ppl who are interested has to overbid the others instead of just f5 their way to the item

with the added advantage that with those rules it is actually best that people only start bidding in the last hour (or last minute) if they can be online. As why up the price when you have to wait till the end anyway? Unless you say something like that halfway you might decide the price is high enough and sell it (so that waiting till the end might mean you lose the item as its sold before the time ran out).
