Here the answer to your question (why use the program)

OK, the server sends signals to the client which the game (on your computer) interprets and transmits to your screen. Even though you can only see say 90 degrees, you are actually sent signals for 360 degrees. The server sends it its not like you are getting signals no one else is.

Point#2 there is really no line technically between hw and sw. You can hardwire software and vice versa. So using a high speed internet connection like a T1 is also like using software that makes the signals go back and forth faster which IS giving you something the other players dont have-namely speed!

And to the guy who said something about friendly fire, WTF are you talking about? We have the best weapons in the world and the best aircraft and best trained soldiers. WTF are you talking about? Get REAL!

And to the guy who keeps asking me why the bot program, I'll go over my main point again:

1) There is really no major differences between hardware & software, K? anything a program does can be hardwired, and hardware is just hardwired software, K?

2) Now, there are those who call a proxy bot a cheat, and what they are saying is that it is a PROGRAM that gives one player a great advantage over the rest, namely that he is making use of ALL the signals being sent by the server. Its NOT hacking the server, cuz the non-bot users are getting the same info sent to them (360 FOV), they just don't use it.

3) Anyone who uses a Graphics accelerator, T1, cable modem, ISDN, Faster CPU - is also giving themselves an advantage. If your low ping/FPS enables you to react 3x as fast as someone else-its not a level playing field. You could both see each other at the same time, both have the same physical reaction speed, but the guy w/the better equipment gets the shot off before the other one can get the crosshair where he wants it. K? I'm a good player, but I don't have all the goodies. My bot at least makes up for the reaction time handicap I have these days as a normal equipment player.

So, to summarize for you, yes, using a proxy bot gives me an advantage over players who aren't using one-but so does a T1 connection, expensive CPU & graphic accelertor. In my eyes, the bot is a poor man's "system". Anyhow, I always set my FOV to 45, so I can only zero in immediately on players I see with that FOV. I don't spin around 180 and rail someone. If I had all the goodies, i wouldn't use the bot.
