Recently i been getting an error, every time i start playing DAoC.... i first got it when there was alot of action around me... but now i seem to be getting it when i just stand around and go afk...

its bugging me extremly, and was just woundering if anyone knows how to fix it?

The error is

VPU Recovery has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands.

I have a 128mb Radeon 9600+ so it should be grand when im playing DAoC....

any info/or adivce?

Thanks

could be bad memory section on the graphics card, highly unlikely though. Check your bios and make sure thaat your AGP voltage is 1.8v or close to it ( e.g. 1.7) also reduce your AGP appeture to 64 MB.

Also you can turn off the VPU recovery and in game try this command to reset your video memory:

/vidreset

Definitely turn off vpu recover.....it's a pain at the best of times. :)
I'd also uninstall catalyst control center and use something like Radlinker or AtiTool......they're unobtrusive and you can still change all settings inc clock speed. :)

Again, example of ATI Radeon bullshit together with DAoC.

Pretty sure it's the drivers, downgrade to catalyst 5.2 to play.

And dont fall into the same trap I did after getting perma vpu error and blank screens :
- suspicion of faulty memory, swapped card. same prob
- suspicion of overheating, new CPU fan and heatsink. new cabinet fans. same prob
- suspicion of low voltage output to gfx card. new 500w PSU. same prob.
- more compatible catalyst drivers. problem solved.
