At last me pc is back up and running ! But can anyone remind me of how to enable F1 and F2 for binds again ?

I think you rename/delete the file in your cstrike/cl_dlls folder, called GameUI.dll that way it will work again

F1 and F2 Binding Problem
To be able to bind your F1 and F2 keys: Go to your Half-Life (or Counter-Strike Retail) directory, open the "valve" folder, open the "cl_dlls" folder, and rename the file "GameUI.dll" to something else (i.e. "GameUI.bak"). You should be able to bind your F1 and F2 keys again.

easier way to bind them "f"keys. open ya config.cfg in notepad and bind a way mas boy.

everytime i press it, it just brings up a little window with the minimise and close buttons

add a new line to your config file :

bind "F1" "kill"

that should help
