Assassin class -

Midgard - Shadowblade
Hibernia - Nightshade
Albion - Infiltrator

All are rogues, they have stealth, posion, climb walls, etc. Nightshade has a nice DD (Direct Damage) bolt attack too.

Complex characters to lvl up compared to Warriors etc - fun though .

Infiltrators are the like in Albion,
and Nightshades are the like in Hibernia.

Hard to level unless you get a group to help (a solo missed crit generally means death).

But, once you're up there, you're oh so lethal.

Scout or Hunter - I think the more important question is - what REALM would you like to play in? If you arent bothered and just want the best archer then dont forget about Rangers.

I wont go into the Scout/Hunter/Rangr 0wns j00 debate - they all have strengths and weaknesses.

I prefer Hunter personally as we get pets - always nice to set on people .

ALL stealth classes are GREAT in RvR - fun to play but you need to be a bit tactical. Why not make BOTH a scout and infiltrator? Level them to 5-10 and see which you prefer?

Us infiltrators are the sneaky bastards that are supposed to sneak into the middle of a group, kill the casters, and die.
There are other duties too, like scouting ahead of raiding forces, sneak into keeps to take out repairers (climb certain walls at lvl 29 or something), wave at people when they can't see you, get detected, run and die. There is no end to the possibilities!

false, i can take yellows without the crit, the crit does help, but its not needed

in rvr assasians are great fun even if its just killing a few people to make people worried

Well there is an end, really, and it's usually Die. But what the hell, it's still fun

I love playing my Scout in RvR, it's qutie a rush to 1 shot some orange or the such in a group and then try not to be seen by all his/her angry friends.

Well, basically, assassin classes are only for RvR. In PvM they can be quite hard to play, though they will deal a great amount of damage at higher levels with good combos combined with nice poisons, they can't stand the hits that they will receive from mobs although tanks will most likely take the aggros.
It can be tough to group with them, but not anymore since people have realised that they will save them in RvR from those pesky casters

SFXman, there is a simple way not to take aggro in a group dont use your hard-hitting moves all the time, and when you do throw in a few detaunts personally i try and pull aggro so i can try and get a stun off an evade we cant take the hits, but we evade enough to get missed half the time in solo we do the same, the goal is not like a tank, slow and steady, but an all out speedy kill, basically outdamaging the other one

Yeah, I suppose you are correct there. Isn't out-damaging the other one always the point, correct me if I am wrong

The DD is pants anyway.
Basically any stealther is great fun to play, the amusment value of a horde of people running around unable to find you while you are sat right next to them is very high.
You do have to be careful though, I think I'm bad karma for assassins, first Aeiedel hits the paladin not me, then today an assassin instead of PAing me, started casting his DD... I spun and attacked and nearly killed him but he ran off to a big group of hibs and my DDs weren't quite ready to fire again.

I just started an infiltrator and i'm hoping of leveling him pretty fast but i must say that i have loads of fun with him just hunting mobs. So i can't wait to go RvR with him.

the NS DD, and soon the NS Shout DD, will and are very useful for 2 things. 1 : pulling, 2: destealthing stealthers

aeiedil didn't get me in dun bolg (if she remembers) but she got me on 3 mm hp with here PA. I'm I glad there were 4 tanks around me
