ASE users

I use to use ASE but I got rid of it because it took ages to load up, I'm taking 3-5mins and I was told it shouldn't. so I went to use Gamespy, gamespy is ok but it doesn't give me the correct ping and I can sort my servers out like I can with ASE.
I've uninstalled ASE and I'm wondering what might the cause be for it to take a while to load up.

Well is it jsut ASe or other programs as well? Defrag your harddrive maybe? ASE seems to use a lot of memory so try closing any unecessary programs.

ASE also doesnt get along with mcafee virus scan on my system, so I have to disable mcafee before running it.
