Asdl probs

Got asdl today thinking gre8 less lag in daoc but no its even worse than my old modem was,which has kinda pissed me off no end.I using aol 8.0 with the pack they provided with 512k modem yes i know aol is suppost to be dodgey but never had probs with modem so didnt expect them on asdl.

Game in open areas is fine,dungeons are tottally unplayable rvr agaisnt 1fg was impossible due to huge lag.

Cant even contact goa cus that damn rightnow page is all fecked up and wont accept password etc.

So i wanted to just ask u ppl that have had asdl for a while do u have this problem a lot or is it just my setup that is fecked up,btw web browsing and downloads are fine just fecking daoc thats all screwed up.

Anyone plz save my sanity be4 this fecking thing goes flying out the window.

Try contact your ISPs technical support and try to explain your problem, ive myself worked on adslsupport for swedens biggest dslprovider for 1½ year, and there are generally alot of faults people do, and dont think about. The problem might even not be at your home, but in their servers for your connection.

Try with a different modem and another computer if you have access to it.

Even with "dodgy" ADSL it shouldn't be anywhere near as bad as you say. There is a possibility that your phone line isn't up to much (mine was like that until they replaced the line) but it's more likely a technical problem with the PC or Modem. Like ormagaa says contact AOL tech support and do not let them fob you off with excuses, if they seem to be messing you about tell them to cancel your contract and go elsewhere, there's lots of good ISPs out there.

Like I said though it could be a phone line problem - which AOL can't really check reliably.

check ur pc for the MSBLAST virus. it fucks up ur upload and makes daoc unplayable. easy to remove though. info about virus

free online virus scanner to remove it with.

I had the same problem GrandP when I first got ADSL. The solution for me was very simple though. All I had to do was change which phone jack I connected the modem to. See to it that you connect your modem to your main phone jack, and try not to use a regular telephone wire to extend your modem to your comp, use a framed cable instead, or else you'll have a connection that gets disturbed by everything electronic in your house, which often means quite a lot of stuff interrfering

AOL sucks ass if u live in the UK get NTL its good conn etc and cheaper then aol

humm the MBLAST virus can it be my problem ? when i play daoc sometimes i go LD every 10min and i go LD if i do alt/tab or do /send to someone sometimes and my exploerer is also so damn slow.

P.S when i reset my IP the internett is fine for about 1hour then it is laggy again

Thanks for all your help with trying to sort this problem out,Its really fecking annoying.Got bt checking line (was some line noise)
last night tryed 2 different phones and tryed the 2nd filter i was given and still laggy as hell.

Will grill aol soon too,goa is a absolute waste of space cant even log into the right now section of thier web page as its saying my passwords are invalid,damn them what is wrong with them cant even give minimun support.
