ASDL advice

Hi,

Given the recent price drops I am thinking of installing ADSL but need some help as I'm unsure which ISP to go for. I was thinking of PIPEX, NILDRAM or DEMON. Does anyone here use these for online gaming? Are they any good and what sort of pings can I expect to BW servers?

Also can anyone offer advice as to what ADSL modem to buy? Ideally I would like a USB one but I here these effect in game performance?

Most ppl seem to recommend Nildram for gaming. You'd get a better response in the Broadband forum tho...

Nildy is the best allround from all the people I know with DSL. Good service, good pings, good if things f00bar up.

im on BT Openworld, its very good with Counterstrike, i usually get a 30/40 ping, and download speeds are around 40kbps

altho, i have noticed my comp locking up quite a lot since i got ADSL... :/

I believe Pipex have problems accessing JOLT servers.

Personally I am on BTOW but that's another story.

And about 400kbps if I use a certain program

Sounds like your on RADSL - and quite a way from the exchange.

I usually get about 25-40 ping and 50-60k downloads on BTO

Same here on cable - I usually get a good 65-70k per sec on my 512/128 cable modem with a 30 ping (and if I were on the mainland that'd be half that).

All for a scrummy £20 per month.

I've heard & seen that... so probably wise to stay away from them... as suggested though, the broadband forum would be a better place for this thread...

I get 60k/sec leech0rs speeds on me DSL which is appalling crap......

Anything lower than 200k I just think is slow ((
