Has anyone tried using the "forward observer" function of the Scout with Artillery yet ?

I just want to know how it works, I know the binoculars of the Scout put a "remote" camera overlooking the target, and you can page through these using the "alternate fire" of artillery devices (ship guns and coastal batteries), but what happens then ?

I'll have to get together with someone next time I'm on in a Scout/Artilleryman pair to try this out.

yeah its pretty simple (well sorta takes a few shots to get on target). What you got to do is get the turret on an arrow on the border of the circle to point towards the center of the cross. From there u have to guess the angle and shoot. The camera then follows the shells. You then have to change angle/direction etc.

Pretty simpleish :)

It takes a lot of co-ordination to get it sorted, but the rewards are so worthwhile, best thing I've found is to take the destroyer to the other side of the map and shell all the way across. Have your spotter painting largish targets (ie tanks) or camped men, when you finally get a kill it is 'le sexy'. I think this will figure heavily in clan games.

best thing to do is get a scout to go by landing craft right at the start to the airfield, use a camera on the airfield, and then the guy in the back of the destroyer can just shell the airfield very easily from the default position much pwnage to be had :D

remember the guy in the front destroyer guns can't use the alt fire for the camera cause it just drops depth charges instead, for whens theres subs in the game :)
