It seems the latest ICQ version always crashes and creates an error log whenever I try running it on W2K

Use 99b. I do, have done since it came out. It's by far and away the best, has no gay adverts and (for ICQ) it's very stable. Runs fine on Win2k here too.

get licq or some other client. there are some that support all the 'messaging scams'

Sorted, it was happening because I was just copying my old contacts list without db converting which it seems this build needs
