See above, its not £25 just for alpha, that includes the full game + 3 invites you can give out to mates.

Yep, now we just get people who have no interest in testing, they just want something NOW! not when it's ready. Bugs go unreported, gameplay issues don't get looked at properly (just moaned about) the finished game suffers, it gets forgotten about within 6 months of release. The bane of every MMO released in the last 5 years.

Now we will have a bunch of impatient people playing a game that isn't ready for launch, they won't like it and will probably not play it on release. This will mean less players overall at release, meaning the potential player pool is effectively split into two waves, thus less all round. There will be less active servers and the game will seem quieter and thus gather less future players.

See how quickly the DayZ bubble burst?

Alpha and Beta testers should be very carefully selected. tbh, Alpha should be done in-house.

It's not a MMO and ARMA is a niche game with a hardcore playerbase most of the paying folk will be players who have played the series well before Dayz came along and will be playing ARMA 3 long after its fully released.

I'm not one of those players for the record, and I don't care either.

Also I've beta tested countless MMOs and bugs I've reported are still there at release, Planetside 2 is a great example of people posting in a huge thread about 1 bug and it still being in release 3 months after it was reported.

It's called a reference. DayZ was an alpha released to the masses. Lots of people got excited about it. Played it for a while and then as quickly as it took off it went bang. Due to Alpha bugs and design problems. I wonder how many will buy the finished game (Which is basically an ARMA 3 mod fyi) when they have played it to death and got fed up with the Alpha.

Oh and more people bought ARMA2 for DayZ than bought ARMA2 for ARMA2

er...the cheating was because of game design...something that was picked up in the Alpha.

ARMA2 enables a huge amount of scripting, which is what the "cheats" were. This was carried over to the mod. Something that will not be carried over to the finished game.

Went on MP team wasn't happy when i had to do a fast landing there were many many bodies after that attempt!

200 player server= madness, choppers and all out war, fun times.

Just paid 19.99 for the Alpha on Steam. This game will be great and annoying in equal measures

Some game modes (mods/addons) are buggy and crash to hell. Others run for hours.

Tried to play wasteland but only got 10-15 mins tops before a crash. Inbuilt scenarios could run for hours.


Still looks excellent and plays well.
