Are Goths cliche now ?

Yeah that looks pretty much like a New-goth or just standard metal style.

Good old goth style is just plain and simple black, with some corsets, maybe a cross, fluffy shirts, pale skins, black nails, and that's it.

Lot of people try too hard, and just fail.
I mean wtf freakishly high heels, tons of blue hair and drawings on their faces, thats screams "confused" more than anything ^_^

Yes I respect however people choose to dress or act, but that does not mean I support or agree to em all, people have their own ways of expressing themselves, most people just go like everyone else with no special need to feel/be different in way of style/how they act

Hang around in metal bars like i do(when i go out) and you meet more then you see on the paper/TV or internetz.

Though metal peeps don't fight that much anyway, too lazy. But you basicly can't be goth(the most laid back metal genre, drink wine and all that) and headbanger(drink beer, curse and par-they).

tbh theres the whole thing of a time and a place, i mean a goth floating along the dark and menacing streets at midnight, yep ok. A goth wandering menacingly through a graveyard in a thunderstorm, yep i can see that would work...

a goth poking round the feminine hygene section of your local supermarket (while something by cliff richard is pumped out on the tannoy) at 2:00 on a sunday afternoon totally loses the plot imo.

it'd be like seeing the terminator picking up his termikids from play school brandishing a pre licked kleenex and a snoopy lunch box.

without the right background and ambiance, they just dont work.

Totally agree with what he said met a goth couple from there once they were really nice even offered to buy me drinks all night in the pub and we'd only just met... theres also a goth meet that happens every year if i remember correctly in Whitby some really nice people go there also (also possible its more than once a year can't really remember a long long time since i went to one)

Was waiting for Camden to be mentioned, good place for clothes really. Met a few random strangers there who are all pretty nice people. GOOD food too... Oh, 'Real Goth' died about 300 years ago by the way... But, post 1900 Goth is still around

@Toht: Aye, there's a club around here (well, 40min away) which is full of 'Goth' people who just act themselves. I agree with the Goth/Metaller comment though. (I'd fit into Metaller in that case) We're usually too pissed to realise it's an actual fight, then end up buying beers for each other ;S
