tipping point my arse.at lowest level since satellite records began. oh no, we have a whole 30 years of data to fall back on, thats empirical analysis for a planet thats had humans on for oh 10,000 years.

I'm sure we are having an adverse effect on the climate, but all this sound bite doomsaying is not helping get the message across at all.

The iconography of polar bears unable to find ice is by now familiar; but other species, including seals, would also face drastic changes to their habitat, as would many Arctic peoples.

Poor Seely :(

Ablation and calving at the arctic is nowhere near as drastic as at the Antarctic. The effects are just seen more by the Northern Hemispheric countries as they have borders at the Arctic, those ownership border arguments don't exist as much down south, where the Antarctic Treaty is in effect where the effects are even worse.

I personally would argue that you can't own what is essentially fractious icebergs (calving can only happen to icebergs, which aren't considered stable, whereas glaciers which ablate can.)

The border argument in the arctic is nowhere near as severe as it might get when we get low on reserves that Antarctica can provide - that's where a superpower struggle will evolve.

There is little doubt GW is happening. Let's get that LHC to settle the argument and DOOM US ALL. :m00:
