Archers in NF

Archers seems to be only melee class that get Physical Defence in NF, can it be as good as it looks in my calculations or am I getting it wrong?

Melee Resists 26% + Studded 19% + PD5 29% + GSV 3% = 77% melee absorbation

Add AP 10% from Sunbelt and you have 87%... evil I must say...

Don't worry, we still wont be able to melee a fish to death. But melee isn't what you mother fuckers should be worried about! :kissit:

and then u found a infil with 2 cold lgm weaps :)

afaik from VNwhine (might be them who is clueless tho) but PD should not work vs lgm weaps :drink:

PD doesn't work like that.
seen some tests, it absorbs less then heralds says

add 3% racial resists, 19% from battler and SoM 200 ablat and you have 100% absorb :rolleyes:

My guess would be : if you take 100 dmg . studdes absorbs 19% , that would leave 81 dmg left to be taken . now your resists absorb 26+3gsv+racial+ so let say 29 coz i don't know what race you are. 29% of 81 is 23.49 so that leaves 56.51 dmg taken. now you say PD5 29 % , this 29% of pd5 goes off AFTER your item resists is deducted afaik. so 56.51*(1-0.29) = 40.1221 dmg taken. at least that's what i think it is.

going by your calcs meduza we would become invincible ^^

Thanks, seems like a good way to calculate it, still very good resists.

And yes Legendary will ignore PD, but thats where Avoidance of magic5 kicks in :)

PD5 + AOM5 = way to expensive. tests prove that pd3 aom3 and toughnes 3 (costs 34 RA points less) is best way to go , add in IP2 and purge 2 (costs you the other 30 points) and you get more gain for points spent.

I would worry more about scouts with Dex5. 1200+ crits and 400+damage every second, that's gonna hurt. You might get a few paces if u lucky. Worst of all this will be from a range where u need binoculars to see them.

Ouch..ouch..ouch.

yup 2920 range without using braggarts arrows from the top of a keep ^^ but still perma 2420 range is nice imo

How do you get 400 damage every second,,, hard cap 1.5 and without mastery of archery you can forget getting below 3 sec with a bow slower then 5.3

Braggarts with 10% archery speed will give u 2 sec non crit arrows (thats a 5.4 spd bow), As for the damage ill let you work that out.

50LB+15=1150 damage which is your hard cap. Anything else for bonusses only makes your average dmg higher. You can never ever cross that cap.
