We at mythic would like to let all of the DAOC archer classes that we have heard you loud and clear and have made the following changes for version 1.61:
New Shoes. All archer classes will get to choose from a list of new shoe designs which we have added in order to make your experience more fun. These designs will include: Flip Flops, High heals, The Original Air Jordans, Birkenstocks, Ugg Boots, and Penny Loafers. The shoes will not have any stats or be spell craftable. This is where we spent most of our development resources.
Female Archers will now be allowed to wear makeup (Huntresses are highly encouraged to do so).
New Phrases for Missed Shots: We have determined that the reason Archers hate missing shots so much is because of the message informing of the miss. We thought we had fixed this with the new blade turn message but have decided to expand the list as follows: “Not even freaking close”, “Missed again”, “You almost got him that time”, “your arrow was blocked but you have a nice grouping going on the shield”, and “At least you didn’t fumble”.
We are adding a Cha/Int buff within the ranger pathfinding line
Hunters will be able to summon a new pet called Odie. Odie will be of absolutely no use in battle but he will lick your face when you die.
We realized that the bow is the only primary ability that had no styles so we have decided to add the the following styles to the bow spec line:
20 Swish – When you miss a player in PvP the arrow makes a really scary swish sound.
30 Called Shot – Archers can predetermine what kind of miss message they would like before each shot.
40 Broad Side of a Barn – The chance of successful archer attack on a keep door is increased by 5%.
50 King of Hearts – Archers will have the ability to shoot themselves however normal miss fumble rates still apply.
We are also currently looking into new realm abilities to be revealed in patch 1.62 so stay tuned!
