I dont suppose anyone in here knows how to translate arabic into english? I dont mean the calligriphic writing, i mean like "3adi" and stuff?

Or if they know someone who does, could you ask them what these mean?

feras kai sa hai
la mafee chei
acha hai
khaleena heik mashan hal ajnabie ma yifham 3aleina
khaleena mi3milo 'bol off' (I know bol off means piss off)
bol as in hadak il shee in asfar
min il zoub (I think zoub means dick)

Just that i was in a conversation with some arab friends and I want to know what they were talking about that.

Cheers in advance

So is it easy to get by in Qatar without knowing how to speak arabic then? Or is the primary language of Qatar not arabic and have I just made myself look like a moron?

It must be a slow conversation if you have to rely on an english forum for translations...

Ah yes, but it's still quicker than the days when you would have had to post this question ina letter to a few thousand people around the world and await their response ;)

Yeah, that would be great dys. Ta :D

And yeah, it is fairly easy to get by without Arabic in Qatar, problems arise when you're in a convo with arab speakers and they start going on in arabic. Especially if its about you. Especially if its right in front of your face and they know I dont understand.

ARGH. Nice language, with a few guttural words, reminds me of welsh.

And Trem, just give them a few hubcaps and they'll be happy, thats where everything they do or say leads to :D

I think this Arabic is slang and a different dialect to what my friend here at work knows but this is the general meaning...

feras kai sa hai - you know whats happening
la mafee chei - its nothing
acha hai - (not known)
khaleena heik mashan hal ajnabie ma yifham 3aleina - dont give me that to let this foreigner show us what to do
khaleena mi3milo 'bol off' - (not known)
bol as in hadak il shee in asfar - piss on that thing yellow
min il zoub - who's that dick

hmm, sounds like there could be a small chance that you die a bit in your sleep through several stab wounds to the stomach and back.

or not, you never know.
