I can see why PC WORLD sell so many, well if you sell one you can get up to an extra £20 per Apple.

Although I will admit to admiring some of the things about a mac.....yes they look different and generally they seem better intergrated but I still would never buy one since I couldn't run most of my present applications and they also lack the ability for customisation.

Oh, yeah, right. :) Dont bother getting one, they're just not worth it for the lack of compatibility. What use is an amazing machine if you cant use it for half of all software developed?

snazzy. Macs are for office work. PCs are for games. If you need both, you're either in the dough or in the shit.

no its off a website

"In fact, the G5 chip will scream at speeds of over to 2GHz if Motorola's predictions are on target. The microprocessor -- which should see the light of day by the end of 2001 at the latest -- will come in 32-bit and 64-bit flavors, and so would sport the ability to "transparently" run present 32-bit applications. For the technically minded, the chip will have an extensible architecture, a new pipeline, new bus topology, and a 0.10 micron processor with SOI. The G5 is described as a "high performance microprocessor targeting computing and high-end embedded"

What other apps do most people use anyway? I rarely play any games these days, just ps6, illustrator, dreameaver, flash, 3dsmax (which I dont think is available for mac), the usual internet palava and outlook for mail. Cubase, logic, acid, reason, pro tools etc but most audio sofware is written for both mac and pc. If I had the cash I'd get one. As it is I'm saving for PS2 now.
