...but considered boring. I seem to remember a thread on here a few days ago claiming we were hated by everybody...

So is it better to be liked but considered boring, or disliked and considered interesting? Discuss. (And liked and be considered interesting isn't allowed )

Hmm, they don't say which countries the poll was taken in and saying you're the "world's most liked country" based upon the opinion of 35 countries seems a bit odd to me . Apparently there were also only a few categories to vote: investment, sports and cultural heritage, having "highly-skilled citizens" and tourism. I somehow think that when GDW (I think it was him) said Britain was strongly disliked it was more because of other reasons, which couldn't be voted for. Not all aspects may be considered equally important for people to judge a country as a whole either.

To answer the question: I honestly don't care what people think of me. Especially not people who never met me or who've seen me once and will never see me again. I just want to be able to respect myself, anyhting else doesn't really matter. At least, that's what I try. I probably still care sometimes, but when I notice it I find myself silly for doing so and will try not to next time .

All the foreigners I've met like the British but hate the English for some reason (and no, they weren't all Scottish, mainly French, Swiss and Yank). I can see why tho.
