To regular forum readers....but I would like to use your experience/advice

I don't (really don't) have time to read all posts on all forums, so which classes do you think will:

a) Be the most fun to play
b) Be the fotm
c) Be most played
d) Be least played

Accepting that nerfs/loving often changes classes pre-launch.

Incidentally, I love group PvP where I feel I am making a difference, not necessarily 'owning' - enjoyed cleric in daoc

Much appreciated
Bene

Knowing absolutely nothing about you, I'd reply:

a) Try them all and see which class you find most enjoyable
b) Hopefully none
c) World of Warcraft
d) Everquest 2

Now, it might seem like a sarcastic joke, but it truly isn't.

You like group PvP. Alright, is there any class that would absolutely not work in group PvP? I can't think of one at the moment.

You like to feel you are making a difference? Are there any classes that aren't useful to the outcome of a battle? Not to the best of my knowledge.

I get a vague hint (cleric) that you enjoy support characters, maybe try one of those first? You are allowed to play more than one character :)

My only tip would be to go with your gut feeling on this one :)

I tried warlock because i like the pet thingy.. changed my mind fast cuz it is not like DAoC here.. pet dont matter that much :) I would say all classes are good in a grp and in grp pve, healer may be a advantage though but i really have no idea ..

Thanks guys - truth be told I was in a great guild in DAOC that disintegrated whilst I was afk (in a hot and sandy place for 4 months) By the time I got back DAOC had otugrown me and I miss the social aspect of MMORPG so I'm looking for a class that will fit into PvP groups easily in WoW

Cheers again. Thinking Druid or something similiar. Hate tanks.

Haven't played it myself but paladins seem to have many useful abilities. Good defensive tank, buffs, rezz, warhorse at lvl 40, bonuses vs undead.

Although the big difference between WoW and DAoC seems to be every class is actually useful in WoW. Even stealthers ;)

Ah well, think priest will be best if you want something cleric-ish.

Cya there anyways!

Kind regards

I think Druid will work just fine :) Atleast give it a go :)

Had some fun with my mage just now. I must say; Blizzard sure know how to make you not look at your exp bar :)

Was playing with my mage (level 7), a level 10 mob attacked me before I noticed it and i still survived. :eek6: so if mages can do the same at level 60 i guess they are a bit overpowered. :p

Eeek! Now that's put me off druids - friar was my main for 2 years til they got totally sidelined by det. Don't want a half decent class, so I guess I'll not go druid.

Shaman!

You can do a bit of everything, a very well rounded class.
I heard Druids need a bit of help atm.

They once were, yes. Especially on the PvP server with Invisibility/Pyroblast combination. That however was ages ago.

Patch after patch they've been nerfed, stomped and spit at for the last few months. First they were nerfed in line with the other classes that did not have talents; only to later not be buffed (but instead nerfed again - invisibility not coming back in any form is just one thing) when the other classes started to get their talents. But from time to time they still manage to kill a warrior or rogue, and then they must yet again be nerfed.

*sigh*

Anyway, Benedictine; Don't, and I repeat don't choose class based on Daoc experiences. Dissing the druid based on the fact that friars didn't get Determination in Daoc is rather silly (in my opinion).

Priest and a Mage are ALWAYS wanted in groups. Priest for their dispell (think demezz but better), healing, nice stamina buff, shielding (think combined abla/moc), cure disease and ranged damage/dots. Mage for their poly (think mezz), nice DPS rate and water (think mana regen).

Shaman seems really nice from what I've seen. If you like hybrids, definitely check it out.

I stoped playing so my knowledge of this is limited....

Oh and you can currently compare wow paladins to daoc minstrels with their solo ability.

from what I can tell it seemes like hunters are getting a group travel spell that stacks with the horse thingy that everyone gets dunno how mutch the speed boost is tho so might not be enugh for the groups that wants to stay out of the zergs way to invite em.

^^ if it is however Im gonna play one ^^

speed is teh fun.

About as much as horses in Daoc get improved speed from skald/bard/minstrel speed songs.

Oh and btw, the Aspect of the Pack increases speed with 20% (read somewhere that it's only ~14.2% though), if damaged in any way, they will be dazed for 4 seconds; most likely resulting in death.

Played druid, then tried warlock and now gone back to druid. They're a very fun class to play, and pretty much 0 downtime when soloing. Also you get to shapeshift and in the latest patch ride kodo mounts.. which can't be all bad eh.

That's only for Tauren; not Druids in general. :)

Priests are very fun to play if u have a good tank that knows how to taunt properly in the group. Solo the priest is ok, he can take alot but he isnt very fast killingmashine. Im playing a priest atm...

I will probably try a Paladin for retail, think they have everything i want. :m00:
