Other specs:
- amd athlon xp 1900
- abit kr7a-133r motherboard
- kingston 512 Mb pc2100 266MHZ CL2.5 ECC DDR DIMM Memory
- Creative Labs Sblive audigy platinum

It is the RAID board....the KR7A-RAID has 133RAID thus it may be refered to as KR7A-133r.

I dont know though then what are the difference between the 2 cards listed on googlegear.com . I think I am ordering from there (Good prices from what I see). The socket A mobo page is here: http://www.googlegear.com/ggweb/jsp/ProductList.jsp?ThirdCategoryCode=011410

The 2 boards listed that im not sure about are:
Abit KR7A-RAID Via KT266A Athlon(XP)/Duron SktA DDR ATX Motherboard w/ ATA/133 RAID Retail

and

Abit KR7A-133R Via KT266A Athlon(XP)/Duron DDR ATX Motherboard w/ATA/133 RAID Retail

there listed seperatly and have about a $2(US) diff.

I see what it is, it's a slightly modified KR7A-RAID. The first KR7A_RAID only supported ATA133 off the RAID controller but the KR7A-133r supports it off the RAID and the onboard controller because it has a slightly different southbridge chipset.

PR whats wrong with amd, via motherboards, and ati gfx cards.

- Nothing is wrong with AMD, even though in the past I have always bought Pentiums I have heard many good things about AMD cpu's. The only people I have heard bad things from are from people who have never had one.
- The kr7a-Raid boards are one of the best Socket A motherboards that I can see.
- And the ATI Radeon 8500 is a good graphics card that supports dual monitor. I would like to be able to use dual monitors so Im getting this. Otherwise I would probably just get the Geforce 3 ti 500

The ECC on the memory isnt registered so its cheaper

What about the television type thingy to see the pictures from?
Ono I have no clue what your talking about

Some peeps think AMD are crap, most dont, same goes for ATi!

I tend to read reviews and find out for myself what things are really like. Rest assured that your 1900 XP will blow you away with speed, and take out the P4 1.9 its directly competing with! :) Overclocked it will wipe out most of the P4's 2.0Ghz peformance specs! But dont take my word for it, go check out reviews!!! and have a go yourself so you are satisfied! :)
However most problems with AMD arise from VIA the chipset thats on most AMD M/B's. These issues are normally fixed with the latest drivers etc. And obviously there is the heat issue! get a really kick ass Heat sink / fan!!! The XP's are much cooler, but compared to intel, they PUMP out heat!
Intel setups are great for maximum compatibility, coolness, and stability. AMD can do all the above, but needs latest drivers, m/b bios, good heatsink, 300W + PSU!
heheheh

The 8500 card is not as fast as the GF3 Ti 500, but it comes very close! bonus with ATi is, you get a much more useful all round graphics card! IE: Dual monitors, KICK ass DVD decoder/player, a feature I miss badly in my GF3 :(

Ono is on about a monitor m8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Hope this helps :)

i just bought an AMD 1900 XP and the KR7 mobo

seems fine to me :)

Thing is with all these comparisons - its all down to experience. someone buys an AMD CPU and summat goes wrong so in their mind they brand them as shite. Same goes for everything.

Each to their own i guess

all i want now is a GF3 Ti 500 thingy.

any ideas which one to get?

That's bollocks. See the AMD v Intel thread for details of my happy happy joy joy experience with an AMD cpu.
