Anything wrong with grinding?

is there anything wrong with leveling just by grinding? the reason i ask this is because ive done all the gnome quests up 2 lvl 10 about 7 times (silly FB ) and now i dont feel like doing them all again and i actually PREFFER grinding in WoW because theres so little downtime.

will grinding ruin my factions when im a higher level? what other good is there from questing apart from money and the little xp boost?

can i harm my char in anyway from just grinding?

there are some quests you simply MUST do since they provide armor and weps you simply cant buy and are far superior to anything crafted or shop bought.

i like the quests because its gives a chance to get to know your surroundings better and theres nothing like knowing some good hiding places when 4-5 trolls are after you =)

grinding tbh bores me... its good here since there is no camp bonus and 4 days later the mob is still giving the same xp as it did when u first arrived.

but to answer your question.. no.. no harm.. just helps break up the xp session thats all.. but at later levels you WILL want to quest rather than xp since its faster to do so and more fun sometimes.

some classes abilities rely on quests... e.g defensive stance for warrior requires a quest..

grindings not bad after a point.. Mage can grind cos none of his qabilities( before 40 atleast) require quests

Grinding is probably slower than questing, and you won't get good reputation which is handy for buying things cheap.

You want good reputation at higher levels to buy mounts etc.. and quests will give you reputation.

I agree that after FinalBeta (I have a strong love for gnomes) the starting zones DO become a bit tedious...but it goes soooo fast. With my mage I tend to grind a little when I find a nice 'human mobs' camp cuz it's a good supply for cash/cloth.

Grinding is probably slower than questing...

It's actually faster, but sooo boring.

quests are the way you get starting money. The items that drop arent worth as much as the quest rewards.

If you are bored of gnome starter zone. Go to another starter zone. You will ding level 2 by the time you reach it Northshire Abbey outside of Stormwind (take the tram from Iron Forge) or make the run to Teladrassil outside of Darnassus. New quests, new area, so its not the same old same old

All the low lvls quests are booring after you have done em meny times, reminds me of lvl 1-5 in daoc before you picked a class

But its really fast you should be 10 in a few hours if you just do all the kill xx numbers of mobs quest and grind abit when close to lvl

After 10 you can go where ever you want and xp further

You need exhalted reputaton to ride other races mounts. This is a good guide here:
