I tried using it last night, but nothing doing. Everytime I created a chat group the status came back as False or unable to connect. This morning a player called Hedge70 or was that hog70 invited ME into a group and it all worked fine. He said something about opening some ports on my router, which was not that clear, but the main point is the Voice Chat added a whole new dimension to the play. If I could get that to work then I would use it all the time.

Anyone any tips?

When you get to the world select screen at the bottom it tells you which ports to open up in a firewall for hosting a voice conf.
You can join no problem but you must open the ports up in order for anyone to be able to join you.

Have encountered performance slow down when hosting it.
Sony say they'll host specific servers for it, but we shall see if it will happened.

The outfit I've joined (Barrys Squad) have a Team Speak server dedicated to the Outfit, we use that mostly, since it's better to administer and control.

I tried opening the port 37000 which they say to open on my router. But the totally stupid arse things is :....

I'm on BT openworld (ADSL) which doesnt have a static ip. Everytime i reconnect it changes. Now on my router when i enter the port i need to open i have to type in an ip address that is hosting the port. Ive tried the internal ip's and the bt openworld ip. They both didnt work.

But i discovered that my router has to restart itself when i open the port. Therefore reconnecting to BT openworld and then changing my ip address to the world wide web.

The point is : How am i suppose to type in my ip address into the router when it restarts and gets another ip address so then the one i typed in isnt in use now.

Its fokken stupid.

Or am i being an arse here and doing something wrong :D

It slows your PC down to a crawl, something to do with using a shitload of CPU power to resample the speech and send it off again to 10 different places.

It really needs some client software so you can host it on seperate machines. I doubt SOE will provide their own dedicated machines.

As for router, not sure, I use linux and thats pretty simple to open ports.
