When I researched which ISp to go for i boiled it down to two:

1) Nildram
2) Zen

I ended up going for Zen as i think they may have been a little bit cheaper at the time. I am very happy with Zen. I have not experienced any problems with them and the initial connection/install process went so smoothly I went broadband "live" a day ahead of scheduled.

Nilrdam is just as good as far as I am aware.

I've been with Nildram for, maybe, six years now, through modem, ISDN and now ADSL.

They rank amongst the fastest and most reliable overall, but certainly not the cheapest. Almost all the problems I have ever had with them have actually been down to BT.

erm.. same as these lot but...

i went for nildram, seemed cheap
they got some 23.99 package which i thought was one of the cheapest adsl people u can get?

erm, got my own hardware, everything is jiggy
20 pings on most UK servers for BF1942 and Quake2

connection, usually meant to wait a week or so to get conected? i was connected early

nildram were upgrading late december and early january so it was kinda shit then, but now its all good and we should see stuff like that for a long time now

Nildram is good, although I wouldn't change from my cable modem for them :)

From a league perspective I've not seen too many problems with people using Nildram apart from an issue around Christmas / early January this year when it went to shit due to Nildram putting too many people on their pipes and BT letting them down in terms of upgrades.

Just another 'had Nilly DSL for ages and it's always been excellent for me' post. Oh, and they let you configure your own reverse DNS when you have the static IP option.

Ive been on plusnet for a couple of months now. As yet, no issues. Everything seemed to be smooth as far as install/connection went.

I get good download speeds and pings too. No complaints here.

I was on Nildram but got sufficiently pissed off with them screwing up again with ordering CP's that I moved. Nildram support is now contracted out to iDesk so if you call "out of hours" you'll get these muppets. TBH BTO support are better than iDesk and that's saying something :D

I'm now with Andrews & Arnold who are in every respect far better than Nildram. Not an ISP for leechers or "non-techies" though.

PS - nobody bother saying BT was responsible for the problems around Christmas on Nildram. BT always deliver late - Nildram knew that and should have been more like Zen and Plusnet (both of whom had unused CP's which they held in reserve for just this reason).

it was still BTs fault so nildram are entitled to blame them :)

Yeah but when it happens twice inside a year then I reckon I can justifiably blame Nildram :D

Nildram > All. You should migrate Wij - I was on BTO for about 18 months and finally migrated, the difference was amazing.

Ring BTO. Get CBUK number. Ring Nildram. Give CBUK number. Wait 7 days. Done.

Any fuckups are invariably down to BT.

To allow us to initiate migration, you should contact your existing ISP and ask them to provide you with your ADSL CBUK number. Please make them aware that you are migrating to Zen Internet and do not want your ADSL service ceased (cancelled) until the migration has been completed.

The CBUK number is a reference which BT assign to every ADSL account, and one will have been provided to your ISP when your service was first activated.

When you ask they should know what it is ;)
