heh well..

<Sherlock Holmes> *blows pipe* If you see where the screw is on the wall, that my dear Watson is where the Clock should go..

In the first picture of him covering the Spider with the Clock, the spider seemed to have moved a little bit up towards the Curtain Rail...

The left legs of the Spider are clearly protruding in the Clock picture yet in the next one with the clock removed it "slide" upwards..

In the third picture once again the Spider moved to be even closer to the screw than the second one yet, he is in exactly the same position with his legs and feet etc as he was in the second picture... He also has the same reflection in his eyes in the second and third picture...

There was also a post made that the spider did not cast a shadow, which seems to be true... there was sufficient light in the room for a shadow to have been cast...</Sherlock Holmes>

I have no idea what just come over me.. :eek7:

I used to keep snakes when younger.
The trick is to grab an end, so that you can unwrap the fucker. If you grab part of the main body you lose. That said, to kill a man it would need to be really pissed off and big, 12ft would do it. I had a large Indian Python that my mates were scared shitless of, but he was a big softy :)

I hear boas and pythons can be affectionate...bit like a dog or something. any truth in that?

I had quite a lot of various types. The bigger ones are more docile, they move slower, but remain very strong. You can never tame a snake, but you can get it used to being handled. Their senses work in a way completely different to us, so if your hand smells of mouse/rat/pidgeon/antelope they perceive your hand as food. I've had some that would bite me at any time and others that would curl up and sleep on me.
They usually only attack if they think that you are a threat. A snake would rather flee than attack a serious rival, some even curl up and play dead so that their attacker loses interest. A snake will generally only attack to defend or to eat. They do make fascinating "pets" though.
To eat an antelope it would need to be something very big (20/25ft +), only really an Anaconda or Reticulated Python could do that. I had a small (8ft) reticulated python, stunning animal in the sunlight, its name comes from the greek for patterned iirc, they are like a rainbow.

Snake shit and piss stinks btw.

I saw that too I think, they found some smaller ones. A 33 footer would be as thick as an average mans torso, head the size of your average laptop pc and teeth 3/4 inch long and lots of them. There is a biggy at Chester Zoo, I think its 25ft + or so.

On the subject of spiders and scorpions, it should be noted they are both in the same class of animal (arachnids) as they have four pairs of legs, as opposed to "insects" that have three pairs. Thus there is an obvious confusion sometimes between them.

Spiders and Scorpions are only two members of this class, there are other "scorpion-like" animals that have four leg pairs but no stinger like the classic scorpion, which can also be referred to as a "scorpion", i.e. whip-scorpions and pseudo-scorpions.

Also, nearly all common spiders are poisonous, even the little diddy "money spider" we often see, as that is how they kill prey, however, a lot do not have the correct methods for injecting that poison through human skin, not all spiders have "fangs", and in most cases it will not be very effective, just a localised rash like a bee sting.

Very few deaths come from spider bites if treated in a hospital as no spider contains enough poison to completely overwhelm an animal the size of an adult human, only the very young or very old or very sick can die immediately.

Some spider bites, like the notorious brown spider in America, although only a 1-1.5 cm big, can cause extensive tissue damage, as this site testifys (warning not for the squeamish). The equally venomous and more infamous female Black Widow is again only a 1.5 cm across.

The big monster spiders are not necessarily the most dangerous.

Isn't there a spider from Australia called a funnel web?
iirc it kicks ass and is common in gardens.

i think Tarantulas can go under "Funnel Web" spiders... my Bro had a few (still does i think) Tarantulas... and some of them created a rock hard web in the shape of a funnel

No these aren't Tarantulas, they look like an ordinary garden spider with longish legs, hold on I'll find a pic.....

I fucking hate spiders, snakes and scorpians... whether they're poionous or not their their god damn butt-ugly mingingness offends me and scares me shitless... unholy creatures!
