There was a big explanation up after it happened. I believe you have to register for a barrysworld account and link your Old.username to the account.

Thats right, personally though I found it would not let me, and kept insisting my name was already taken (which it was, by me !) and won't accept that your the same person. If you still have your old password written down somewhere it'll help.
If you have trouble though just make up a new name and register and stick a '.' on the end like I have (full stop).

You will have to choose a different login for your new account. That doesn't really change anything unless you want to log on to the rest of the BW site though.
Create a login using your real name or another nickname, then link your old nickname to it after going through the registration. Logging on to the forum will once again be done with username Garnet (in this case )
I know it's somewhat annoying, but not as annoying as the old. thing...
