Got a problem. I decided to start playing BF2 again recently, (having not for a year while I was away). Game worked fine, and then yesterday I was doing a bit of tidying up on PC, uninstalling some old crap. After I'd done this, God knows why, BF2 just refused to launch; start screen, crash to desktop. Tried rebooting etc. but it was having none of it. So I decided to uninstall then reinstall. Unfortunately I used the windows uninstall rather than the EA one that sits in the BF2 launch menu and its fucked up even worse. Now I can't seem to uninstall properly (it just starts then nada) and I can't reinstall over the top (same thing, gets to "preparing to launch installshield wizard" then nothing). I've used a registry cleaner to try and fix it but it ain't happening. Help!

hey matey, you could have a quick search for "duplicate guid problem" regarding bf2. I know it's not the same, but the fix should give you the exact bf2 registry locations and you may be able to fix the issue by deleting the entire set of keys.

this because the EA programmers "forgot" to clean up after themselves (I am guessing) in the registry when certain events occur. hope this helps!
